Urban Sketching Workshop

Urban sketching offers a creative way to observe, interpret and document the built environment. Using State Library of Queensland’s distinctive architecture and the surrounding Cultural Precinct as inspiration, this workshop introduces practical drawing techniques for capturing the character, atmosphere and architectural details of a place. 

In this workshop you will: 

• Develop observational drawing skills.  
• Learn the fundamentals of composition, perspective and proportion when drawing architecture and urban environments. 
• Experiment with line, tone and mark-making to capture the relationship between buildings, landscapes and people. 

Our creative workshops are an invitation to deepen your creative skills using the unique State Library collection as inspiration. The workshops are delivered by experienced local creatives and expert staff in an inclusive space.
