Sounds of the Amazon, stories of Brazil with Portuguese Playgroup
Recommended all ages
Celebrate the stories, sounds and culture of Brazil at this vibrant multicultural family event with Portuguese Playgroup.
Held during the week of Brazilian Independence Day, celebrated on 7 September, this event is an opportunity for families to come together and discover Brazil’s rich cultural heritage, language, music and storytelling traditions.
Families are invited to journey into the Amazon rainforest through an interactive session of storytelling, live music, movement and sensory play. Together, we’ll open a magic suitcase filled with objects inspired by Brazil and the Amazon, encouraging curiosity, conversation and new vocabulary.
Literary and storytelling activities will be supported by Livroteca, a community initiative that promotes Brazilian literature, Portuguese language and cultural connection through books, stories and playful experiences for children and families.
The session will finish with a joyful Brazilian music celebration, inviting everyone to sing, move and dance together.
