Using news for research: a media literacy workshop (Years 7–12)
State Library invites you and your students to explore strategies for using news effectively as an information source in research assessments.
Supporting media and information literacy, this workshop will equip students with skills to navigate news sources. Students will access, critically evaluate, and use quality news sources providing diverse perspectives for their research assessments.
Featuring historical and contemporary articles from local, national, and international publications students will discover how these archives serve as a powerful resource for research across multiple subject areas.
Workshop notes:
- This session is delivered via Microsoft Teams.
- This session is a multi-school event, open to all schools for registration.
- Students will need access to a laptop/computer to participate in this workshop.
