Online research strategies workshop (Years 7–12)

This interactive workshop is designed to help your students become better researchers by building their information literacy skills. 

Your students will learn how to perform effective search strategies using keywords and Boolean search strategies as they navigate State Library's One Search catalogue and a selection of the best Australian and international databases for the topic they are researching. 

By the end of the workshop, your students will have gained access to a wide range of quality information sources including eBooks, peer-reviewed academic journal articles, news stories from respected publishers, and primary source materials that they can use to answer their inquiry questions in the research assessment they are completing for your unit. 

Workshop notes:

• This session is delivered via Microsoft Teams.
• Teachers are to provide a research topic, key inquiry question, or a copy of their students' assessment task skeet to assist with workshop planning and delivery.
• Each student will need a laptop to participate in this workshop.
• Bookings for these workshops close 10 days in advance of the proposed workshop date.
