Greetings from BPP: Portrait Postcards

Recommended ages 5 – 12 years. 

Step into the role of artist, sitter and storyteller in this playful portrait activity for children and families.

Using a series of specially designed Brisbane Portrait Prize postcards, visitors are invited to create their own portraits inspired by the exhibition around them. From self-portraits to drawings of friends, family members or favourite works in the gallery, each postcard features a creative prompt designed to spark imagination and observation.

Participants can draw at their own pace using provided materials, with mirrors available for self-portrait activities and selected works displayed throughout the space for inspiration. Completed postcards can be taken home, added to a growing in-gallery display, or scanned and shared as part of the evolving Brisbane Portrait Prize community gallery.

• Draw yourself as a Brisbane icon

This drop-in activity is designed for children and families of all ages and encourages playful participation, creativity and connection with portraiture throughout the exhibition period.
