Anzac Day Commemoration Ceremony for students
Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I.
The Anzac Commemoration School Ceremony is held annually at Anzac Square, Brisbane and provides school students with a meaningful opportunity to honour those who have served and sacrificed for Australia. This year celebrates the 30th anniversary of this ceremony for students.
Post-ceremony learning experiences
Following the ceremony, schools are invited to participate in a 15 minute walkthrough of the Anzac Square Memorial Galleries, a free, interactive exhibition curated by State Library of Queensland.
Students can also complete a learning discovery trail through the surrounding memorial gardens, exploring the stories behind the statues and sculptures that commemorate Queensland's service history.
State Library of Queensland staff look forward to welcoming school groups and supporting students who wish to place a symbol of remembrance.
