Cultural Centre

The State Library of Queensland building is a key site within the South Bank Cultural Centre - an innovative arts centre and an inspiring place to explore for visitors of all ages. The Centre is located in the heart of Brisbane, on the southern bank of the Brisbane River and also includes QAGOMA (the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art), the Queensland Museum (QM), and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC). The Centre combines with the nearby South Bank Parklands, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, and other agencies including the Queensland Conservatorium and the Queensland Theatre Company to form a node of cultural, educational, retail and recreational facilities.

More information about the Cultural Centre and the history of the site can be found via the Arts Queensland website .

State Library is also a member of Business South Bank which aims to 'enrich the South Bank community through business'.
