Portrait of King Sandy

This oil painting by Swedish born artist, Oscar Fristrom depicts Kirwallie or "King Sandy", a well-known Aboriginal elder of the Brisbane region.  The painting is housed in an ornate gold coloured frame.  it is a head an upper body depiction of an elderly Aboriginal man with a full grey white beard.  He is wearing a white shirt which is open to his chest which shows signs of tribal scarification. View item in catalogue
