COVID-19 update: State Library is gradually reopening and more spaces are now available. Check what’s open before you visit.
black&write! periodically offers internships to aspiring Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander editors with a passion for contemporary Indigenous literature.
Our internship program offers talented young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders valuable career pathways, and fosters the development of new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander writing.
As a black&write! intern, you’ll get hands-on experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors, and help the winning black&write! Fellows develop their manuscripts for publication. You’ll also receive support, training and mentorship from the black&write! team.
Keep an eye on the State Library website and black&write! Facebook page for future internship opportunities.
If you have any questions that aren’t answered here, feel free to contact the State Library of Queensland at Indigenous.Writing@slq.qld.gov.au or on (07) 3842 9985.
