Crowd giving 2025
Crowd Giving is a collective giving event where donors come together to hear project pitches and vote on which idea receives funding to bring it to life.
Fact or Fiction Wins $30,000!
We are excited to share that Fact or Fiction was voted the winning project at our Crowd giving event on 15 May 2025, held at the beautiful Queensland Terrace!
Congratulations to Troy Bullock, Program Officer, Schools Engagement, who secured $30,000 in funding to bring this initiative to life. Developed at State Library, this interactive online program will help students build essential critical thinking skills - equipping them to recognise bias, identify fake news, and distinguish fact from opinion.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful event hosts, Courtney Talbot, President of the Queensland Library Foundation, and Andrew Baker, Managing Partner at Perpetual Private. And of course, a big thank you to our generous Crowd Giving donors - your support makes all the difference.
We are also incredibly grateful to our other State Library presenters for their engaging pitches: Andrea Hurley, Coordinator, Children and Families with Hands on Play, and Chris Currie, Communications Officer, Audience Engagement with Tea and Me. Your creativity and passion help bring vital ideas to life.
Together, we're empowering young people to think critically and supporting the important work of State Library.
Inspired to get involved?
You can still make a donation through the Queensland Library Foundation and help us turn more great ideas into reality.
Stay tuned for our next Crowd Giving event - we’d love to see you there!
