State Library’s regional digital development project supports the growth of digital capability in regional and remote Queensland. Initiatives for each region are based on community needs and include free workshops that offer hands-on opportunities to explore new technologies and develop digital skills in friendly, community-based settings.

Digital capability focus for the Central West Queensland region: 

  1. Building digital confidence and access for beginners
    Workshops for inexperienced users to learn internet basics, device help, online safety, and managing digital services.
  2. Digital for creative and personal projects
    Skills for exploring photography, design, and researching and digitising family or community history projects.
  3. Business and workforce skills
    Training for entrepreneurs and job seekers in online business setup, digital marketing, and design tools.
  4. Exploring emerging technologies
    Introductory sessions on AI and video tools for anyone curious about future digital trends.
