Just opening a book, is opening an adventure.

Dr Rhonda White AO, Transforming The Corner Campaign Advisory Committee

When you open a book, you step into an infinite world of possibilities

With your donation today, State Library can continue being the keeper of cherished stories, untold histories, and future-defining innovation, where the joy of discovery and learning never ends.

As the financial year comes to a close, we invite you to be part of our journey by donating to one of our three priority projects:

Transforming The Corner Campaign

Helping children reach their highest potential

When children have a great start in life, the impacts are profound. For nearly 20 years, The Corner has supported young children’s learning through talking, singing, reading and playing. This year, with your support, we are reimagining The Corner – creating a bigger, better space and providing more architecturally designed interactive zones tailored just for children. It’s an investment in our children’s futures that will transform the way they connect and engage with stories, ideas, play, and each other.

Double your impact: Donate before 30 June and your gift to this campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Queensland Library Foundation (up to $500,000).

Reel Rescue

Preserving Queensland’s culture and shared memories

Reel Rescue is more than saving films and recordings before they perish. It’s about preserving Queensland’s culture, identity, and shared memories for future generations. From rare home movies to archival footage of historical events, this initiative safeguards the stories that define us as a community.

By digitising and protecting thousands of audio-visual items, Reel Rescue ensures that Queenslanders, now and in the future, can witness the moments that shaped our state. Your support helps keep these irreplaceable treasures alive, connecting us to our past and inspiring our future. Donate today before these stories are lost forever.

Colonial Secretary’s Correspondence

Unlocking Queensland’s past

The Colonial Secretary’s Correspondence is a treasure trove of 19th-century documents that reveal the untold stories of Queensland’s early days. This project is a bridge to our past, enriching our understanding of who we are and where we’ve come from. These records are vital for understanding our history, offering insights into the lives of individuals, communities, and the decisions that shaped our state. By supporting this project, you help State Library preserve these important records and make them accessible for future generations both in Australia and around the world.
