Anzac Square

In 2013, the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council recognised the need to undertake an extensive program of works to enhance Anzac Square to ensure its future continued use and relevance. A total of $21.98 million was invested by the Queensland Government, Commonwealth Government and Brisbane City Council, as part of the Queensland Government Anzac Centenary program. Beneath this historic site, discover the Anzac Square Memorial Galleries curated by the State Library of Queensland. Delve deeper into Queensland’s war history than ever before in this refreshed exhibition.

Brisbane Writers Festival

Brisbane Writers Festival connects Queenslanders through stories. For 57 years, the festival has brought communities together to celebrate the power of literature and be inspired by local and international writers.  

State Library is proud to be the home of Brisbane Writers Festival. Every year, our spaces come alive with hundreds of thought-provoking events for readers and writers of all ages. 

Join us for the festival in September and play your part in this rich culture of stories.

Google

State Library of Queensland's partnership with Google offers a new way to explore our building and collections through the Google Arts and Culture platform. 

Queensland University of Technology

Established in 2009, the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame recognises the public contribution made by leaders of business to the reputation of Queensland and its economic and social development.

Queensland Writers Centre

Queensland Writers Centre supports writers at every stage of their development, and promotes a vibrant culture of writing, reading and creating.

A resident partner of the State Library, Queensland Writers Centre is located on Level 2 and offers year-round program of writing events and services. State Library is proud to partner with Queensland Writers Centre on dynamic initiatives that champion writers, including the Queensland Writers Fellowships and GenreCon.

The Queensland Writers Centre also houses the Children’s Book Council of Australia, Book Links and Queensland Poetry Festival.

Telstra

State Library of Queensland's  commitment to enabling digitally inclusive, literate communities that are skilled for the twenty-first century is evidenced in two programs delivered in partnership with Telstra — Deadly Digital Communities and Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland.

Brisbane Tool Library

The Brisbane Tool Library Inc. works towards reducing consumption and waste, while prioritising access over ownership by lending hand and power tools, as well as camping gear and other items (sport equipment, kitchen/party appliances and Christmas decorations). 

State Library are proud to host Brisbane Tool Library in level 0 at The Edge.
