Queensland Terrace

The Queensland Terrace is the epitome of elegance with exquisite six-metre ceilings, Chillagoe marble floors and a remarkable collection of vintage tea cups. Taking advantage of Queensland’s climate, the unique open-air design brings the outside in, with views of the city and the surrounding flora while still providing protection against the elements. The Terrace can be styled to suit your personal taste to make your celebration truly memorable.

Ceremony: 150 guests (100 seated + 50 standing)
Reception: 300 cocktail or 150 banquet

River Decks

Suspended over the banks of the Brisbane River, the stunning spotted gum timber deck offers a backdrop of uninterrupted city and river views, and an intimate venue for your wedding celebrations.

Ceremony: 60 guests (30 seated + 30 standing)
Reception: 80 cocktail or 50 banquet
Additional guests can be accommodated if entire deck space is utilised.

Red Box

The captivating Red Box, encased in full length windows, gives the impression of being suspended over the Brisbane River. Providing an absolutely stunning venue against the dramatic city skyline at night, the Red Box is a hidden treasure and the perfect space for a small ceremony or dinner reception. Tiered wooden seating leads down to the Red Box, ideal for ceremony seating or for entertainment at your reception.

The Red box is available Friday to Sunday from 5 pm onwards.

Ceremony: 40 guests (seated)
Reception: 40 cocktail or 30 banquet

Poinciana Lounge

Nestled amongst State Library’s collections, the Poinciana Lounge is an elegant space for your wedding reception with outstanding views of the Brisbane River and city skyline. Featuring commanding ceilings and windows spanning two floors, complete with a grand piano the Poinciana Lounge offers a timeless venue for your celebration.

The Poinciana lounge is available Friday to Sunday from 5 pm onwards.

Reception: 150 cocktail or 100 banquet

Packages

All packages include a dedicated venue coordinator to oversee your event, a PA system with a hand-held microphone, a security officer to monitor your private event, and directional signage to assist your guests upon arrival.

Ceremony package

  • Venue hire for 4 hours
  • White wicker chairs

Ceremony and reception package

  • Venue hire 12 noon to midnight

  • Venue for guests to mingle between ceremony and reception

Catering and equipment

Catering must be provided by one of our exceptional nominated catering companies. Additional lighting, furniture, and audio-visual equipment can also be arranged, with pricing provided on request.
