SLQ grants closing dates extended!

Due to adverse weather conditions which may have affected some public libraries across Queensland, SLQ has extended the closing date of both the Public Library Strategic Priorities Grant and the Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland Grant to Tuesday 18th April 2017.
Public Library Strategic Priorities Grant

Funding totalling $400,000 will be available to Queensland Local Government library services or Indigenous Knowledge Centres (IKCS) to apply for project funding of up to $25,000 to deliver strategic initiatives through public libraries across Queensland.
The Public Library Strategic Priorities Grant Guidelines will guide Councils in developing applications. Please read the grant guidelines carefully before completing an online grant application form.
Grant opens Monday 27 February 2017
Grant closes 5pm Tuesday 18 April 2017
Successful applicants will be notified the week beginning 8 May 2017
The Public Library Strategic Priorities Grant is funded through VISION 2017 and the OPAL program.

Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland Grant

Enabling seniors to become Tech Savvy
The Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland Program 2017 is an ongoing partnership between the Queensland Government (led by State Library of Queensland) and Telstra.
The Program is aimed at seniors (people aged 60 years and over), with no previous computer experience or who have limited skills and are seeking to develop their confidence and skills in technology.
Funding totalling $250,000 will be available to all Queensland Local Government library services and IKCs to apply for funding of up to $15,000 to deliver relevant Tech Savvy Seniors training to seniors in their community.
