On Wednesday 11th November 2015, we marked the 97th anniversary of the armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18) with staff member and regular blog contributor Simon Miller performing the Last Post outside the entrance of SLQ at 11am.

In military tradition, the Last Post is the bugle call that signifies the end of the day's activities. It has been incorporated into memorial services as a final farewell, and symbolises the duty of those lost to war is over and they can rest in peace.
