Lunch Box Forum: Paul Carr - Every mistake I have made in the last 12 months

By Administrator | 14 April 2016

On Wednesday 13 April 2016, Paul Carr, founder of Zenue, spoke at an SLQ Business Studio Lunch Box Forum. If you were unable to attend the forum or would like to experience it again, check out this STORIFY to see what happened.

About Paul Carr
Prior to starting his business, Zenue, Paul was studying Architecture and working at the Department of Premier and Cabinet. He was also working on a few entrepreneurial side projects and getting mentored by my current business partner Adrian. The concept of Use Our Place (now Zenue) developed and Adrian and Paul knew they had to pursue it, so Paul left his study and government job to go down this rabbit hole. Funnily enough when Paul left the government, the last thing he was working on was an entrepreneurship and innovation reform in Strategic Policy.

Zenue is a platform where you can find and book the most unique, quirky spaces for your next event or activity.

About the talk
As Zenue celebrates its 1 year anniversary, Paul reflects on some of the challenges he has faced in the hope it will assist fellow entrepreneurs embarking on their own business endeavours.

Here are a few of Pauls mistakes:

  • choosing the wrong business name and having to rebrand
  • launching Australia wide
  • chasing easy revenue
  • letting the revenue mould the kind of business we wanted to build
