Unlocking the Future of Our Children: Introducing the New First 5 Forever Learning Modules

Over the past year, the First 5 Forever team at State Library of Queensland has been hard at work developing a new suite of learning modules to support family-facing staff delivering the First 5 Forever in libraries across Queensland. And this month, the new First 5 Forever online learning modules officially launched! 

At the core of First 5 Forever is the belief that strong foundations in the early years are essential for lifelong learning and development and a commitment to supporting all Queensland children and families. The program encourages everyday activities such as talking, reading, singing, and playing with babies and young children—simple yet powerful ways to help children develop the skills they need to succeed in life. The new suite of learning modules is an important part of this commitment to supporting families, communities, and staff in ensuring that every child has the best start in life. 

When parents and caregivers attend a First 5 Forever program, they are not only engaging in an enjoyable activity but are also learning from highly skilled delivery staff who are engaged with the latest research and best practices to support children’s development. First 5 Forever staff are equipped with the most current knowledge, ensuring that every session provides valuable, evidence-based experiences for both children and their caregivers. 

The new learning modules draw on the latest early years research and with these resources First 5 Forever staff have the tools and knowledge to apply proven, research-based strategies in their work.  

This means they are even better equipped to make a real, lasting difference for the families and communities they support. 

With every First 5 Forever program led by knowledgeable and trained professionals, children and families receive the highest quality support, contributing to a stronger, more vibrant future for all Queensland children and families.
