The Corner at Home Activities: Shapes

13 November 2020 | State Library of Queensland

Hello and welcome to The Corner at Home Activities. Today’s activity is inspired by shapes!

Kids - big and little, process complex information when we are engaged in play and having fun, so let’s put on our best imaginative, playful hats together.

Let’s get started! Join Tim on a shape challenge around the State Library. Search for shapes both inside and outside and why not experiment with different ways to make a shape with your own body - or maybe you can re-create letters! Imaginary play and movement is important for your little one, encourage a variety of open ended play opportunities, songs and activities to discover what shapes you can find on your own home.

Search for shapes in your own home.

What materials and equipment you will need?

Use  materials and objects found in your home environment:

  • Find a space inside or outside to hunt for shapes

  • a curious set of eyes.
