The Corner at Home Activities: Outer Space

4 September 2020 | State Library of Queensland

Hello and welcome to The Corner at Home Activities. Today’s activity is inspired by outer space!

Kids - big and little, process complex information when we are engaged in play and having fun, so let’s put on our best imaginative, playful hats together.

Let’s get started! Join Tom as we explore the world around us and decorate your very own telescope. Telescopes are used to make things really far-away look really close and easy to see. Pirates use telescopes to look for treasure, sailors use telescopes to look out for pirates, and astronomers use telescopes to look at the planets and stars in outer space. Encourage your little people to experience the world around them and use their imaginations in this open-ended play activity.

Explore the world around you with this telescope activity.

What materials and equipment you will need?
