Bedtime Story Time | Sing along with Nadia Sunde
11 June 2021 | State Library of Queensland
Sing along with Nadia Sunde to a song inspired by Hotel for bees, written by Alison McLennan and illustrated by Erin Dunne as part of our "Stories for Little Queenslanders" series. Then relax with your little one and join Frankie as she reads Shoosh!, written and illustrated by Simon Howe.
The song and story in this video are accompanied by an Auslan interpreter.
Stories for Little Queenslanders
Our series of books created especially for 0-5s by authors with connections to Queensland includes lots of fun stories to share together. The books feature local places and animals and stories and experiences your little one can relate to.
Young children are starting to have a sense of who they are and where they belong in the world around them. Seeing themselves in the stories they read helps to build their sense of belonging and identity.
The excitement they feel in spotting places they’ve been, or people who remind them of their family, friends and communities, is a wonderful thing to experience. There’s lots of fun to be had in enjoying stories about familiar animals doing funny things (“koalas don’t do that!”) or recognising a familiar experience or place.
Read the books or listen to an audiobook free online or borrow them from your local library.
