The Corner at Home Activities: Soft Sounds

First 5 Forever Cloud White

Hello and welcome to The Corner at Home Activities. Today’s activity is inspired by soft sounds!

Kids - big and little, process complex information when we are engaged in play and having fun, so let’s put on our best imaginative, playful hats together.

Let’s get started! Join Tiffany as we listen to, and explore soft sounds using everyday items. Experiment with your little people by using rhyming words and describing what you can hear in this open-ended play activity. Listen carefully to the different sounds - do they sound like scurrying mice, the pitter patter of rain or maybe even the sound of popcorn popping?

Discover soft sounds in your home.

What equipment and materials are needed?

Use materials and objects found in your home environment:

  • Collection of pots and pans and containers
