How to make an RTI application

Before making an RTI application you can check to see if the information is already available.

Check the website

Check to see if the information you are looking for is already available from:

  • our publication scheme - information about the department, our services, finances, priorities, decisions, policies, lists and registers
  • our disclosure log (Released Information) – non-personal information released through the RTI legal process

Contact us

We will help determine if the information is accessible through an administrative release process or we will advise if you need to make an RTI request to access it.

Submit an RTI request

If you need to make an RTI request, you can access the information by downloading an application form [Document in PDF format 141 kb] and submitting it by post, fax, email or in person to SLQ (contact details below). Please note that applications submitted through the Smart Service Queensland website cannot be accepted by SLQ. RTI staff will contact you to obtain payment if a fee is deemed payable for your information request.
