We’re looking forward to seeing you soon at State Library! In line with Queensland Government advice, from Tuesday 12 January 2021 you must wear a mask throughout your visit to State Library. Children under 12 years and people affected by a medical condition or disability are exempt. Please continue to observe 1.5m physical distance from others.

Join a hands-on session and get sketching!
Do your children love to draw? Join illustrator Shannon Horsfall for Sketch Club - an opportunity to make art inspired by stories. In this hands-on session families will discover how an illustrator comes up with their ideas, get some tips on drawing characters and collaborate to create magical creatures of your own. Feel free to bring a favourite drawing from home to share with the sketch club crew!
Shannon Horsfall is a Queensland author and illustrator known for delighting children with ‘Was Not Me’ and 'Unicorn Farts Glitter’. Shannon recently illustrated Once I Munched a Mango as part of the Stories for Little Queenslanders series published by State Library of Queensland and available in public libraries throughout Queensland and as ebooks and audiobooks on the First 5 Forever website.
