Sewing induction

Mend or make with our sewing machines to revive an old favourite, follow a pattern or test your design innovations. In this induction, you learn how to set up a machine, cut and pin and sew straight. We will also give you an introduction to the overlocker, also available to book once you've completed the induction.  

Once you've completed the induction you can book and use State Library of Queensland's sewing machines at The Edge Open lab.

REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS INDUCTION

• Participants must be over 16 years of age.  

• Enclosed, flat footwear must be worn at all times in the Innovation lab.

Please become a State Library member before you arrive. If you already have a State Library member account, make sure you know your login details as you may be required to login during the workshop to access State Library computers, and to make bookings for equipment.
