A night by the fire: Jarjum Stories with Joshua Walker
Jarjum Stories is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children’s books and storytelling. Jarjum [pronounced jah-jum] means children.
This colourful showcase highlights the role of storytelling in sharing language, cultural knowledge and moral lessons across generations.
Join our celebration of Jarjum storytelling with a showcase tour at 5:30pm before gathering around the fire with special guest storyteller Joshua Walker from 6-7pm.
Joshua Walker is grandchild of reknown Aboriginal , poet, activist artist and author, featuring in Jarjum Stories showcase, Oodgeroo Noonuccal. Following in his grandmothers’ footsteps, Joshua continues to practice and share his rich cultural knowledge.
kuril dhagun invites you to be immersed in stories of Joshua Walker as he shares his stories as the grandchild of Oodgeroo and his knowledge of the rich culture of his people.
