Master Distillers Experience: Entwined edition

To celebrate the Entwined: plants and people exhibition - State Library of Queensland have teamed up with Brisbane Distillery Company to combine our knowledge of plants.

Learn about the fascinating history of Queensland botanicals from a State Library librarian and use this knowledge to create your very own Entwined Edition Gin!

 About the event:

The Ultimate Gin School Experience combined with an Entwined theme!

In this hands-on workshop, become a Master Distiller and let your creative side run wild as you choose from Entwined inspired Queensland botanicals to create your one-of-a kind bottle of Gin.

The Gin School Trainers and State Library have curated a selection of botanicals that relate to Queensland and the Entwined exhibition. During the workshop there will be time for a short presentation from State Library on the Entwined exhibition and to show some examples of the beautiful collections held by State Library.

The two-hour Master Distillers Experience includes:

  • 4 drinks per person
  • A 500ml bottle of your own creation to take home
  • Light snacks
  • Brag to your friends that you are now a Master Distiller

Bookings for singles, couples and groups are welcome. Our Gin Trainers will guide you through every step of the process. Please email if you have any dietary requirements.

Please note that ticket sales close 6pm Wednesday 3 November, tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for credit.

Presented as part of Entwined: plants and people exhibition

The lives of plants and people are inextricably entwined.

Curiosity, greed and intimate connection lie within our passionate and destructive relationship with the plant world.

The shapes and colours of plants drive our sense of harmony and beauty. They are healers of both mind and body, providers of food, shelter and the air we breathe.

Without them, endlessly creating and re-creating our world, we can’t survive.

Pause, breathe, and notice the complexity and beauty of plants.
