Live at the Library 2023

Invite State Library into your classroom with our personalised, live-streamed experiences for year 3-12 classes in regional and remote schools.

In an inquiring minds workshop, year 3-6 students develop their critical and creative thinking skills and expand their curiosity about the world as they examine and interrogate a range of engaging collection items selected especially for students studying the HASS curriculum at their Year level.

In a historical thinking workshop, year 7-10 students learn how to think like historians and develop skills for undertaking an historical inquiry as they analyse a selection of primary and secondary sources from State Library collections on topics studied in the Australian Curriculum: History at their year level.

In a research strategies workshop, year 10-12 students learn practical skills and research strategies to guide and complete their QCAA research-based internal assessments using State Library's extensive suite of national and international journals, databases, eBooks, encyclopaedias, newspaper archives, and engaging collections of primary sources.

Live at the Library experiences are customised to the topic you are teaching in your classroom. Students receive a takeaway guide to help them complete research for their assessments using State Library’s online collections.
