We’re looking forward to seeing you soon at State Library! In line with Queensland Government advice, from Tuesday 12 January 2021 you must wear a mask throughout your visit to State Library. Children under 12 years and people affected by a medical condition or disability are exempt. Please continue to observe 1.5m physical distance from others.

Family film festival

Come and relax in the cool and discover a fun selection of family-friendly films. These sessions will bring films to life with everyone in the audience invited to play, laugh and dance along. 

Each group ticket is for 2-8 people, including a minimum of 1 adult. To maintain social distancing you will be seated with the members of your group. Before booking your ticket you might like to plan to bring a friend (or 3!) to make the most of your experience.

The Wishmas Tree (2019)

A young possum's misguided wish for a white Wishmas freezes her entire hometown of Sanctuary City. A tale of daring and adventure, this delightful Australian animation features the vocal talents of Miranda Tapsell, Ross Noble and Kate Murphy and was created right here in Brisbane by multi award winning production company Like A Photon.

Get to know Candice Phee – a wonderfully honest 12-year-old who is determined to bring her family back from the brink. Based on the award-winning book, My Life as an Alphabet by Barry Jonsberg, this imaginative Australian film will make you laugh, cry and cheer with delight.

State Library has worked with Queensland Health to develop a specific COVID-Safe Site Plan that governs how we are managing safe practices onsite. Bookings are essential to attend children and families activities.
