BlackOut! First Nations poetry workshop (Years 7-12)

Celebrate World Poetry Day by exploring the art of blackout poetry. In this engaging, online workshop students will delve into First Nations poetry and texts by Queensland authors and discover how to use blackout techniques to craft their own powerful, original poems. 
 
Through a variety of creative poetry activities, students will reflect on their personal perspectives and discover new ways to express themselves through this unique art form. No prior experience is required – just bring your creativity and curiosity! 
 
Workshop notes: 

  • Ideal for students looking to explore poetry and creative expression in an interactive and meaningful way. 

  • Resources for this workshop will be provided prior to the event and must be printed for students to use on the day. 

  • This free, 40 minute workshop is open to all schools and will be live-streamed via Microsoft Teams. 

  • A Microsoft Teams link will be sent to you upon completion of your booking.
