An open access community makerspace with equipment, tools, and space available to anyone with a creative idea.
The Fabrication Lab is open in the Innovation Lab on Level 1 of The Edge on Thursdays from 5 - 8 pm for Hack the Evening and Saturdays from 12 - 6 pm for Saturday Open Lab. To help you get creative, a selection of resources are available for use during these sessions. Please note, equipment bookings are required for Saturday Open Lab. Theres also a Pop Up FAQ with answers to the most commonly asked questions.

Join a meetup for makers, designers, fabricators and anyone interested in learning new skills or getting hands on with digital and fabrication like-minded folk. No induction or booking resources are necessary, just head to the new pop up Fabrication Lab and turn up and play! Available resources include: Two laser cutters 3D printers Vinyl cutter Sewing machines Soldering stations How do I find it? The Fabrication Lab is located on Level 1 of The Edge in the Innovation Lab, please note that Level 0 of The Edge remains closed.
Saturday Open Lab

Are you a maker, designer or fabricator? Or are you someone interested in learning new skills and getting hands on with digital and fabrication resources? This is your chance at pop up Saturday open lab! Each Saturday head to the Innovation Lab at The Edge, and engage with a community of like-minded creators. Join us weekly from midday till 6 pm. Bookable equipment resources include: Two laser cutters 3D printers Vinyl cutter Sewing machines Soldering stations. How do I find it? Make your way to The Edge and ask at reception, or head to room 8 listed on the Level 1 map of The Edge. How do I make a booking? Head to the Fabrication Lab page and click on the equipment you would like to book if you have completed the necessary induction.
In order to book and use resources you must:
- Be over 16
- Become a member
- Attend the relevant inductions

Book a reliable classic Bernina 700 Record series sewing machine or 700D Overlocker for your latest fashion project. Inductions required: Fabrication Lab General Induction, Sewing Induction
Don't have a computer to layout your laser job? Need to design a model for the 3D printers? No worries. Book a HP Probook 645 G4 running Windows 10 Pro, installed with Corel Draw 2017, Vcarve (makerspace client edition), Fusion360, Gimp, Inkscape, Meshmixer and Prusaslicer.
- Electronics Bench: Our full electronics bench is currently not available. We have a scaled back offer limited to Solder iron, basic multimeter and basic tools.
- CNC Router: The CNC is unavailable until further notice.
