Fabrication Lab equipment

Requirements

In order to book and use the resources in the Fabrication Lab, you must:

  • Sign up for a Library account
  • Attend the relevant induction
  • Complete and sign all paperwork when required

Available on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 12 to 5.45pm. You can book up to 2 weeks in advance.

1 x 3D Printer/person.

Working area: 120(W) x 120(H) x 120(D). Material: ABS. File input: SD card with gcode files or USB via UP Studio software.

Laser cutter induction

Available on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 12 to 5.45pm. You can book up to 2 weeks in advance.

Max 2 hours per person per week. Max 50 hours per year. Users must cancel 24 hours prior.

Working Area: 726 x 432 mm 
Max. thickness of material: The laser cutter is capable of cutting up to 10mm acrylic and 6mm wood. It will not cut metal. 
MDF is not safe to cut.
File Input: USB with any vector file format that Corel Draw can open ( .svg, .cdr, .ai etc).

Soldering Bench

CNC router

Available on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 12 to 5.45pm. You can book up to 2 weeks in advance.

1 x CNC Router/person. Max 4 hours per person per week. Max 50 hours per year. Users must cancel 24 hours prior.
