Game Changers: Nicole Hollows
For someone who never aspired to be a corporate executive, Nicole Hollows has broken all the rules.
Nicole became CEO and Managing Director of Macarthur Coal at the age of 35. She is the only female chief executive of a major Queensland mining company, forging a career in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
In her five years in the role, she has steered the company through drought, flood and an international financial disaster, and is recognised as one of Australia’s emerging business leaders. Nicole is currently serving as a member on the QUT Business School Executive Dean's CEO Strategy Group, the Board of the Queensland Museum Foundation and the Skills Queensland Board. She was formerly President of the Board of the Queensland Resources Council (QRC).
Facilitated by Ray Weekes, Chair of CEO Institute, the Game Changers series brings innovation leaders from business, technology, and creative industries to share their insights with aspiring Queensland entrepreneurs.
Hear first-hand how prominent Queensland entrepreneurs and business leaders build companies, reinvent themselves generation after generation, inspire teams, and envision success.
Game Changers is a Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame initiative presented by SLQ, QUT Business School and the Queensland Library Foundation. The Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame, celebrates, records and retells the stories of Queensland business leaders and their contributions to Queensland.
