UQ Idea Network Weekend of Startups Powered by IdeaHub

The UQ Weekend of Startups is a weekend-long event where entrepreneurs, experts and builders come together for 54 hours to take an idea, form teams, validate and build a business, and pitch to industry-relevant judges. This event brings together startup enthusiasts with different skill-sets and facilitates pitching of a business idea for a new startup to create a prototype or working demo in teams of 3-7 members. The event will provide a platform for innovative, entrepreneurial students to come together and create a final product over the course of a weekend, present their product to industry-relevant judges and investors and test potential real-world applicability.

Friday night you will have the opportunity to pitch your idea if you have one, network with the other participants and form teams around the best ideas that are pitched (based on a voting system). You will then begin work over the weekend validating your business idea and pivoting from the feedback you are given from experienced mentors and potential customers. The Sunday evening will involve pitching towards judges, and prizes will be given to the winning teams.
