Qld Young Achiever travelling the world promoting sustainable fashion

It started as a small fashion show during a final-year marketing degree.
Now Queensland Young Achiever of the Year Edda Hamar is hoping to change the world's perception of sustainable and ethical fashion.
She is expanding her company and recently returned from a Switzerland conference where she was one of 200 people invited as 'a leader of tomorrow'.
In 2010, during the final year of her marketing degree at QUT, Ms Hamar produced a fashion show displaying student collections in front of about 400 people.
The following year she established Undress Runways, which celebrates the work of ethical designers from around the world, with two women who worked with her on the university fashion show - Kirsten Stallard and Kobi Lagana.
"The biggest thing in terms of being sustainable and ethical is having transparency in your supply chain," Ms Hamar said.
"A lof of designers today don't know where their clothes are made and they're really unsure of their impact."
Ms Hamar said sustainable and ethical fashion starts at farm level, with the organic production and treatment of clothing materials. This is followed by an ethical production process, ensuring workers are paid well and working in safe environment. Read more
