ProQuest Central available through SLQ

State Library of Queensland now subscribes to ProQuest Central, the largest multidisciplinary aggregated database for periodical content, with more than 11,000 titles, including over 8,000 in full text. ProQuest Central provides access to a large collection of subject databases with journal articles, market reports, company reports and videos, and is a valuable resource for researchers at all levels searching material on any topic.

Over 160 subject areas are covered comprehensively, including business and economics, health and medicine, news and world affairs, technology, social sciences, education, law and women’s studies.

ProQuest Central’s home page is clean and simple to use, allowing you to search easily across all the included databases, browse by topic or view the list of publications available. A full list of the individual databases that are included in ProQuest Central is also provided. The extensive range of health and medicine video training programs covers topics from how to perform specific medical procedures, such as tracheostomy care and cardiac monitoring, to more general advice on health issues such as aging and allergies.

The publications list, also available from ProQuest Central’s home page, allows you to search by title – very handy if you know what you’re looking for – or by subject, publisher, language or type of publication. Delving into the lists of trade journals, magazines or newspapers demonstrates the incredible breadth of information available, with everything from teaching journals and agricultural publications to boating magazines and newspapers from around the world.
