Free film streaming with Kanopy
State Library of Queensland now provides free access to the on-demand film streaming service Kanopy.
Kanopy showcases over 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, hard-to-find titles, film festival favourites, indie and classic films and world cinema. There is a wide array of foreign language films and material of cultural value. Many films available on Kanopy are difficult to access elsewhere, making this a fantastic resource for movie buffs and students.
State Library members can stream 4 films or episodes per month. With thousands to choose from, and hundreds more being added each month, there is something to suit everyone. Select from popular or classic movies, or documentaries on business, health, science, history and the arts. There is also an amazing range of courses, giving everyone the opportunity to learn a language or take lessons in cooking, psychology, photography, history, health and much more.
Find Australian films, such as Jasper Jones, The Dressmaker, Tracks, Mad Max and Kokoda, as well as cinema from around the world. There are also films suitable for children, including the favourites Where the Wild Things Are, Paper Planes and titles from ABC Kids. Kanopy Kids categories also include animated storybooks, educational films, anime favourites, classic tales, and movies and TV shows for older kids.
