Celebrating the year that was
As we waved goodbye to 2021, now is the time to take a deep breath and make some time to reflect on the past year – the ups AND the downs - and give yourself a pat on the back for getting to 2022!
2021 has been difficult and uncertain, so it’s easy to focus on the negative; the things we want to change. While this is important, you should also reflect on all those hidden achievements of parenthood and raising children, the milestones, and the foundations you have laid that will help set your little ones on their literacy and learning journey.
Remember all those songs you sang together? In the car, in the bath, at bedtime? Give yourself a pat on the back!
How about all the stories you told and shared? No matter how short or made-up, no matter how tired you were? Cheers to you!
Think of all the new words your little one has learned this year, simply because you took the time to talk, sing, read and play with them every day. Congratulations!
All the raspberries on tiny tummies; the tickles on noses and toes; the wondering about how birds fly or what’s that in the sky? The picture book walks; the special meal time talks. You have been your child’s most important teacher this year, and that’s something to celebrate.
Cheers to a happy and healthy new year filled with talking, reading singing and playing.
