Bold Businesses Podcast: Soulfresh's path from 'man in a van' to $100 million

Didi Lo launched health food business Soulfresh after trading his Byron Bay nightclub job for the road.

“I bought a little refrigerated van, and not knowing Melbourne well, I bought a Melways back then,” he says.

Lo had travelled down from Byron, where his time working at La La Land bar let him get to know local businesses and their products. He saw a big opportunity to take their organic, unprocessed products to the nation.

His initial approach was to buy up stock, drive to Melbourne and open up a map to find customers who might be keen.

“I sort of looked around for where I thought people who would buy these products would be located, and the first place I went was Elwood... I literally just drove down to Elwood, got out of my van. I had made a little product list,” he says.

These days, Soulfresh turns over $100 million. Read more
