  • Download the LinkedIn Learning app for learning 'on the go.' Tap the ‘sign in with your library card link. Unfortunately, subscription to Kanopy has been discontinued and access to public libraries in Queensland is no longer available. Please consider other services such as free online platforms (on demand free to air tv such as iView and SBS On Demand), YouTube, and borrowing library dvds.

RBdigital emagazines

RBdigital users are advised that this service has now migrated to OverDrive and the Libby App. From now on you’ll need to use Libby for anything new. If you already use OverDrive, or Libby, then you don’t need to do anything else. If you are new to OverDrive and Libby, go to the Overdrive website or find the Libby app in the Apple App Store and on Google Play and follow the instructions.

Microsoft Digital Literacy Curriculum
Developed by Microsoft, the site is for beginners to those who have some experience. It has resources to teach generic skills and concepts in topic areas such as Computer Basics; The Internet, Cloud Services, and the World Wide Web; Productivity Programs (MS Word, Excel etc), Computer Security and Privacy; Digital Lifestyles.

Be Connected Network
A new initiative funded by the Australian Government to support digital literacy for older Australians whilst empowering all Australians to thrive in a digital world. Be Connected comprises a network partners website with advice, learning resources and a grants program for which libraries and other community-based providers can submit applications to secure funding. The Be Connected Learning Portal has a wealth of online learning resources as well as a network of community partners to support your developing digital skills and confidence. Find local help and advice or join the Network to help others. The Be Connected Network is coordinated by the Good Things Foundation.

Go Digi
Go Digi is a free program that helps individuals and communities improve their digital skills and confidence online. Learning guides cover everyday topics such as connecting to the internet, finding health information, enjoying armchair travel, discovering online shopping and exploring hobbies.

Tech Savvy Seniors
An ongoing partnership between the Queensland Government (through State Library of Queensland) and Telstra, to deliver technology training to seniors through public libraries across Queensland. Trainer guides and short ‘self-teach’ videos are available in a range of introductory topics.

ABC Health
Latest news from the ABC and an A to Z library of topics relevant to Australians.

Cochrane Library
A regularly updated online resource containing a collection of evidence-based databases. Reviews of different treatments feature a Plain Language Summary, with the aim of making the information accessible to everyone. All Australians have free access to the Cochrane Library as a result of the Australian Government funding a national subscription.

GALE Health & Wellness Resource Centre
Provides instant access to carefully compiled and trusted medical reference materials. Includes more than 1000 health/medical journals, hundreds of pamphlets, over 700 health-related videos from partner Healthology, Inc., and articles from 2,200 general interest publications in addition to a broad collection of Gale reference titles. Material contained in this Resource Center is intended for informational purposes only. Available to State Library members. Join here.
