Our volunteer program
The State Library of Queensland Volunteer Program officially commenced in July 1989.
Our dedicated and invaluable volunteer team is made up of people of all ages and backgrounds who generously contribute their time and energy to a wide variety of volunteer projects. The volunteers participate in both behind-the-scenes and front-of-house projects which include historical document transcription, providing building tours for visitors to SLQ and exhibition guides.
The volunteer program greatly enhances the capabilities of SLQ and provides a very enjoyable and interesting way to become involved with and to support one of Australia’s great cultural institutions.
