In line with the Queensland Government's new COVID-19 restrictions. State Library, including Anzac Square, will be closed from 3:30pm Friday 8 January. We are due to re-open 12 January. All onsite events during that time have been postponed.

State Library invites you to join us for a morning of fun and yarning through a series of weaving workshops facilitated by Nadine Foley from Culture Weave. These workshops will teach you how to weave using raffia and emu feathers so that you can contribute a piece to the community collaboration and visual art installation 'Yarning Nets.'

The 'Yarning Nets' piece will be created over the course of three, two-hour face to face workshops facilitated by Nadine. 'Yarning Nets' will be using raffia, netting and emu feathers with conversation about language being used as energy, language through art and time, and is a response to the Old Words New Ways showcase. 'Yarning Nets' will be installed in kuril dhagun for viewing until the end of February 2021.
