State Library of Queensland would like you to step back into the time of the Greek café phenomenon.

Join Brisbane Greeters for a walking tour as we walk to where some of Brisbane's much loved cafes once stood. Explore past locations of establishments connected to the Greek café phenomenon of the early 1900s up to the early 1980s. Learn about the Greek migrants who established these cafés and milk bars, carving out a new life for their families in Queensland.

This event is part of the Meet me at the Paragon exhibition program.

This free tour will suit adults interested in Queensland history and business history, people with connection to the Greek community and anyone nostalgic about the bygone hospitality era of Brisbane.  These tours are perfect for those about to attend the Meet me at the Paragon exhibition or for those who need to discover more after viewing the exhibition.

You should be physically fit and able to walk at least four blocks of the Brisbane CBD. The tour will commence at State Library of Queensland.

*Please note: The Wednesday 13 November event is sold out.
