This real estate map from 1883 advertises land for sale at the Sherwood Junction Estate, now part of the Brisbane suburbs of Corinda and Sherwood. The allotments were situated along Hilda Street, Kathleen Street, Arthur Street (now Ruthven Street), Alfred Street (now Harrowby Street) and five unnamed roads (now Dewar Terrace, Quarry Road, Primrose Street, Oxley Road and Clewley Street).

Sherwood Junction Estate, , 1883. John Oxley Library, State Library of Queensland

Extensive publicity for the Sherwood Junction Estate was published in Brisbane newspapers prior to the auction date, which was set for 29 October 1883.

"The land is beautifully undulating, and rises gradually to a grand elevation, which commands a series of views over the whole of the Oxley and surrounding districts. These views are really charming, and although neither Moreton Bay nor Brisbane can be seen from any portion of the land, yet the outlook is so varied and so exceedingly beautiful that everyone who sees the place exclaims - "I'd no idea there was anything so beautiful in this neighbourhood."" (The Telegraph, 24 October 1883, p.6)
