'No sob story': Business growth after one unthinkable event

As a small business owner, what do you do the day after seven members of your business are caught up in an unexpected trauma and several physically injured?
You go back to work, says co-founder of Think Talent, Ainsley Johnstone.
Staff at the recruitment agency, which turns over $3 million a year, were on their way to an end of year drink celebration on December 21 last year when a driver allegedly ploughed through the intersection at Elizabeth and Flinders Streets, colliding with pedestrians.
Johnstone says she had to keep working to keep the business afloat.
“I was back in the office the next day. My job was to pick and choose the clients that we had worked with to let them know what had happened," Johnstone says.
Three Think Talent staff were hit, two just missed a collision and another two were first responders on the scene. Seven of the then-nine staff were affected.
Co-founder Natalie Firth ended up in hospital with head and rib injuries.
In the following days, the founders were "like headless chooks" dealing with what the fallout meant for business, Firth says. Read more
