Brisbane documentary photographer Dr Charles Page shares highlights from his beautiful photographic essay Memories in Place: The Centenary of WW1.

His book explores the enduring connections between European WW1 battlefields and the Australian streets, estates and rivers that were named as a result of patriotic fervour in postwar Australia.

How do places such as Pozieres or Passchendaele in Australia resonate with those places in France and Belgium one hundred years on? What impact does this have on our understanding of war, peace, nationhood and friendship?

This is a free event with registration essential. Doors open at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start.
