Five tips to a happier, healthier you with Gale Health and Wellness

Are you the type of person who loves self-help books? Are you always looking for ways to be happier? If so, Gale Health and Wellness is the eresource for you! It combines academic journals, magazines, videos and news articles to bring you trusted content on physical health and mental wellbeing. It’s Queensland Mental Health Week this week and to celebrate we’re bringing you five happiness tips from Gale Health and Wellness. You can find these by searching information about mental health and well-being:

1/ Gratitude: Showing gratitude to others and being grateful for what you have is shown to improve your physical and mental health, according to a search of Gale Health and Wellness. Try keeping a gratitude journal or write a gratitude list to practise this tip on a regular basis.

2/ Exercise: Exercise is a well-known mood booster. It can help to relieve anxiety, anger, depression and stress. Academic journals in Gale Health and Wellness recommend yoga, walking, cycling and aerobic exercise.

3/ Mindfulness: Being ‘in the moment’ is a proven way to reduce anxiety and tolerate uncomfortable feelings. Gale Health and Wellness has magazine articles and academic journals that demonstrate the benefits of mindfulness to mental health.

5/ Social media: Social media is often seen as the enemy of mental health but studies in Gale Health and Wellness have shown that moderate use of social media like Facebook and Skype can help to decrease depression and combat the effects of loneliness for some people.
