Entrepreneur in Residence program gives start-ups a leg-up

State Library of Queensland’s (SLQ) Business Studio is proud to partner with Brisbane’s LittleTokyoTwo as 2016 Entrepreneur in Residence.

SLQ’s Business Studio aims to nurture innovation into reality by providing a supportive co-working community, an aim shared by LittleTokyoTwo (LT2) who have already activated two co-working spaces in Brisbane’s Spring Hill and Petrie Terrace.

SLQ’s Business Studio officially opened its doors in November 2015 as a collaborative hub for start-ups and entrepreneurs to support emerging enterprise in community.

CEO and State Librarian Sonia Cooper said it makes sense to connect start-ups with the business intelligence tools available at the Library and the know-how of the Entrepreneur in Residence.

“Entrepreneurs can tap into the experience of LT2 and get specific advice for their enterprise needs from the Business Studio three days a week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This support for start-ups helps grow new business ideas and develop their business capability.”

Minister for Innovation, Science and the Digital Economy and Minister for Small Business Leeanne Enoch recently visited SLQ’s Business Studio to address one of the fortnightly Lunchbox Forums.

Businesses can share in the conversation via social media with the hashtag #slqbusiness anytime or visit SLQ’s Business Studio at South Bank between 9am to 5pm on weekdays. LittleTokyoTwo is onsite at SLQ’s Business Studio three days a week.
