This real estate map from 1887 advertises 199 allotments of land for sale at the Collins Estate, located today in the Brisbane suburb of Annerley. The allotments were situated on Ekibin Road, Ipswich Road, Rose Street (now Lambton Street), Jane Street (now Lothian Street), Alice Street (now Bower Street), Annie Street (now Real Street) and Mary Street (now Gustavson Street).

Prior to the sale extensive publicity was published in Brisbane newspapers.

"The Collins Estate is most delightfully situated on the most cheerful part of the Ipswich road, the property being passed and re-passed every few minutes by the Rocklea line of omnibuses, and having immediately in front of the property the tramway omnibus stand, so that for passenger accommodation to and from town this spot stands unrivalled". (Queensland Figaro and Punch, June 18, 1887, p.21)

A public auction was to be held at the ground on the afternoon of June 18, 1887. The results of the sale were published in The Telegraph newspaper.

"Messrs Hooker, Son and Elliott report a successful sale at the Collins Estate on Saturday last. The attendance was very large, and the competition spirited. Fifty-three allotments were sold in less than two hours for the total sum of £2,079 10s., the highest price obtained being £92 and the lowest £25, giving an average of over £39 for each allotment." (The Telegraph, June 25, 1887,p.4).
