Building a Loyal Client Base from a Standing Start

Julie Hillier founded her business Ministry of Handmade six years ago to share her passion for making and creating, helping other people reconnect with some of the ‘lost arts’ of upholstery, lampshade making, sewing, soft furnishings and more.

Ministry of Handmade delivers regular local workshops exploring a variety of time-honoured creative disciplines with a modern twist,

facilitates focussed weekend retreats and hits the road to present workshops in remote areas of Australia.

In this Lunch Box session, Julie shared insights into how she successfully built a business as well as a community of dedicated makers through a personality-driven, organic approach to business growth.
